Dr. David Winn was the first dentist in the US to purchase a diode laser for dental use. Dr. Winn originally wrote the protocol for the use of diode lasers in dentistry and presented it to the Academy of Laser Dentistry in 1995. Dr. Winn, for over 30 years, was a dental laser pioneer, lecturer, author, trainer, and manufacturing evaluator. Before getting into dentistry Dr. Winn also had an engineering degree.
